The life of a Christian from God's perspective is to be a life of service,
worship and praise.  We are called to serve humanity, those who are
less fortunate than we are, those who have been cast down, those who
have been orphaned by society, who are spiritually, economically, and
even physically handicapped.  Some look at their way of life here in
Wilmington and find life at a loss.  But my brothers and sisters, God is
never at a loss to know what to do.  He is never baffled by our
situations.  He knows perfectly well what is best for us, which is beyond
ourselves.  Our problem is, "we don't know."  We say, Lord, show me
then I'll be good to go, explain it all to me than I'll count on you.

God has not called us to live unto ourselves, but rach out to those
whose eyes are blinded by the hypocrisy of this world, and leading
them out of darkness and into His marvelous light.  Yes my brothers
and sisters, God expects us to live unto Him, while at the same time
rendering service to the disfranchised.  God did not call us to focus
on ourselves, but He called us to do unto others, as we would have done
unto ourselves.  Our faith is in the Lord, counting on Him when we do
not know what tomorrow holds--Amen!

Listen, when a man or woman of God fails, nothing of God fails.
When a man or woman changes, nothing of God changes.  When someone
dies, nothing of God dies.  When our lives are altered by the
unexpected, nothing of God is altered or caught off guard.
If we want to experience the blessings of God, we must be a blessing to
others.  Therefore, it is imperative that we learn how to live beyond
ourselves.

In Him,

Reverend John O. Veasey, Jr.
